What does Jesus say false teaching is like?
(Jesus refers to false teaching as yeast.)
Why do you think Jesus uses yeast as an example?
(Jesus often used common things from every day life to use as examples to His disciples and His followers. In this way they could easily understand what He was trying to tell them and it would be easy for them to remember. Yeast is a fine powder we add to dough to get it to rise and become bigger. The Pharisees had some good doctrines but they also "had some false doctrines mixed in."

Jesus warns us that although someone may say things that sound Biblical, we should be very careful to read our Bibles
and find the truth for ourselves.
"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." Matt 7:15
"Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings." Hebrews 13:9
"But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them—bringing swift destruction on themselves." 2 Peter 2:1
