Lent Day 21 Finding Rest for Our Souls

A Spiritual Journey towards faith in Jesus Christ for Children

Day 21 - Finding Rest for Our Souls
Family Scripture Reading: Matthew 11:25-30

Family Discussion Starters:

Why do you think "wise and learned" people sometimes do not understand the lessons of the Bible but little children do understand?
(Little children are willing to be taught and enjoying exploring the world, however, sometimes adults have too much pride to believe the Bible.  All people are given "free will" to believe or not believe.)

How many things have been placed under Jesus' control?
("All things have been committed to me by my Father." Matt 11:27)

Discuss what Jesus meant when He said,
"My yoke is easy and my burden is light." Matt 11:30
("The yoke was Jesus life and teachings - not the law. Followers of Christ were indeed free from the law, but they were not free to do as they pleased. They were to be harnessed to Christ."
Women's Commentary Dr. Dorothy Patterson)

When we follow Jesus and put His teachings into practice in our life, our life becomes easier because we are living in God's will.  We can rest in knowing that our souls are comforted and protected no matter what.
