Good Clean Tips

Good Clean Tips
We all know to wash our hands thoroughly with soap after using the bathroom and before eating is much needed, but….
Cell phones are large host to bacteria, especially women’s. Clean regularly with antibacterial wipes.

Toothbrushes can either be changed out every 3 months or put through a dishwasher cycle.
Wash hands after blowing/wiping noses, after handling dirty laundry and before unloading the dishwasher.
To avoid a serious eye infection, wash hands before contact lenses are put in or removed.
(P.S. Please conserve water by not letting unused water run while scrubbing up) J

Saving the Home for the Holidays

By Kim Hawkins

A house is not a home without family. What’s the point of a big spread of food, a beautifully adorned tree with perfectly wrapped presents, without a family?
Now imagine the home is not broken by divorce, but the marriage is so strained that the husband and wife, if they speak to each other at all, are bitter, mean, and resentful in all action, tone, and speech while leaving a trail of hurting hearts.
There’s been so much hard work and effort to make the home ready for a beautiful holiday and many, mostly un-needed gifts (and all too often charged to a credit card) that are under the tree.

The time, energy, and expense that is already being spent on numbing oneself or trying to fill the void could be spent to save the marriage.
I would venture to guess that any child from a home life that’s suffering would not only understand but welcome much less for the holidays in exchange for his/her parents getting professional help.

If your marriage is suffering, even in the least, please read the article in the above link.

 Here’s an excerpt:
“Social scientists first started studying marriages by observing them in action in the 1970s in response to a crisis: Married couples were divorcing at unprecedented rates. Worried about the impact these divorces would have on the children of the broken marriages, psychologists decided to cast their scientific net on couples, bringing them into the lab to observe them and determine what the ingredients of a healthy, lasting relationship were.
Was each unhappy family unhappy in its own way, as Tolstoy claimed, or did the miserable marriages all share something toxic in common?”

"Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth. It always protects, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:6-8

Oh, To Be Delightful

Oh, To Be Delightful

Ladies, we tell our husband and children who they are, and in turn who they become.

“You’re a man.” And not: “Be a man!”
“I believe in you.” And not: “You'll never amount to anything.”

Just remember your own childhood and how the words and support of your parents molded you. Also, when your husband speaks well of you, how motivating it is.

“Blessed is the (wo)man who…..” Psalm 1:1

Scattering Seeds

Scattering Seeds . . . Samaritan’s Purse Shoeboxes
Carri Pratt

One of my children’s greatest joys at Christmas time is to pack the Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes. It has become a family tradition for them to select items for the boy or girl for whom they are packing the box. It is an awesome way to remind them of the “giving” aspect of Christmas as well as being thankful for the great blessings they personally enjoy.

This week is “National Shoebox Collection Week” for Operation Christmas Child. Every box packed will receive a tract explaining who Jesus Christ is and how a person can be saved.

Share an amazing video titled GOOD NEWS. GREAT JOY. 2014  with your child about the joy they can bring to a child for Christmas at:

Genesis Bible Study

Genesis Bible Study – Chapter 45
Carri Pratt

“So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God” Genesis 45:8

It is sometimes truly difficult to trust in the Lord when things are going terribly wrong. Sometimes, when big trouble hits, my first reaction might be a sinful one. Questions like, “Why me?” are nothing more than a lack of faith that God is in control.

In Genesis chapter 45 we see that Joseph has no lack of faith. He knows full well why he traveled the road he did from slavery to royalty. His life was not in the hands of his brothers, it was in God’s hands. Joseph trusted in God every step of his journey for provision, encouragement and to help him become the man God created him to be.

Ladies, this is huge! Our eyes need to be fixed on Jesus, especially during difficult times. God is truly in control of all circumstances and He will be the one to walk with us from slavery to royalty! Praise You Jesus!

“He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which He is putting everything as it should be, under and around Him.” Philippians 3:21 (The Message)

Challenge: When big trouble hits, recognize that God is in control. “Keep your eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who that for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.” Hebrews 12:2
