Don't Get Your Tinsel In A Tangle

Don't Get Your Tinsel In A Tangle

Oh, the Holidays!
Oh, how magical and special...
O' What Fun!? Or is it..
O' What Drama. O' What Disfunction. O' What Awkwardness...

Christmas with the extended family can be stressful, especially when the flesh is involved. If you host or show up thinking only of yourself that is a sure recipe for disaster.

If we are offended, grumbling, complaining, keeping a record of wrongs, holding grudges, making judgements, or assuming the worst...
that is certainly proof that we took the bait of Satan and
it's beginning to look a lot like
TROUBLE.

The evil one is the tormenter and author of failed relationships, estrangement, wounded hearts, distrust, hurt, destruction, and
brokeness. His goal is to make the home as un-peaceful as you allow it to be.

Our Daily Sanctification is needed for
Peace with God and
Peace with Others.

See clip below "What is Sanctification"

"There is one simple but all-inclusive guide the Word of God gives to regulate our walk with Jesus and make us know when sin has come in. Colossians 3:15 says, "Let the peace of God rule in your hearts." Everything that disturbs the peace of God in our hearts is sin, no matter how small it is, and no matter how little like sin it may at first appear to be." (Excerpt from the book, Calvary Road by Roy Hession)

Confess and repent for your part. Ask the Lord to bring light to the root issue and to help you to walk in the Spirit, keep your peace and release that person to God.

I had to lay down my "weapons" and surrender before my relationship improved with my husband and my son. It started with me and they quickly responded.
I am only responsible for my response and what's in my heart.

"For he himself is our peace, who has made us both and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven." Ephesians 2:14

"Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for God's wrath. For it is written: "Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord." Romans 12:19

"And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him."
Colossians 3:14-17

"Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a matter worthy of the gospel of Christ." Philippians 1:27

Reconciled

Reconciled

The Holidays are meant for family. Family gatherings are very wonderful, but tend to make some feel obligated, guilty, or pressured and such....

This is a great time to consider reconciliation. Who among you are you on rocky terms with or even estranged from?

Jesus is our BEST example:

Jesus was sent into this world to reconcile the world to God. He came to serve and not be served. He is love, peace, protector, self-controlled, gives unconditional love, and keeps no record of wrongs.

Predetermine before you walk into your family Christmas that you will walk in pure love with NO expectations or record or wrongs.

~"For if, while we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!" Romans 5:10

~"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:32

~"Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord." Hebrews 12:14

~"And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity." Colossians 3:14

The Tomb is Empty ... Jesus Lives!

A Spiritual Journey towards faith in Jesus Christ for Children

EASTER SUNDAY - The Tomb is Empty ... Jesus Lives!
Family Scripture Reading:Matthew 28:1-20

Family Discussion Starters:

Who were the first to see the empty tomb?
(Mary and Mary)

What do they find at the tomb? What does he say?
(An Angel. The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” Matt 28:5-7)

We can rejoice in the fact that Jesus died in our place on the cross then  conquered death when He rose Easter morning!
He Lives!  Our Savior Lives!

Lent Day 40 Secure the Tomb

A Spiritual Journey towards faith in Jesus Christ for Children

Day 40 - Secure the Tomb
Family Scripture Reading: Matthew 27:62-66

Family Discussion Starters:

What were the chief priests worried would happen?
(They went to Governor Pilate and voiced their concern that Jesus' followers would come and take His body.)

How did Pilate respond to them?
( “Take a guard,” Pilate answered. “Go, make the tomb as secure as you know how.” So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard." Matt 27:65-66)

Do you think Jesus could be confined to a tomb by a guard?
(No! Jesus is our Almighty Lord and Savior)
