Holding Offenses Can Take You Down

Holding Offenses Can Take You Down

I recently heard a story about an eagle who was spotted soaring through the air and swooped down to grab it's prey and started back up soaring again. All of a sudden the beautiful eagle fell to the ground. When those who observed this great creature in flight went to see what happened, what had killed it? They discovered that the eagle had captured a weasel as it's food, but the smaller, weaker weasel began to fight back as they soared through the air.

The eagle eventually fell from greatness because it refused to let go of what was eating at him.

"Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."  Isaiah 40:30

"The Lord is your mighty defender, perfect and just in all his ways; Your God is faithful and true; he does what is right and fair." Deuteronomy 32:4

"How can you say to your brother, "Let me take the speck out of your eye." when all the time there is a plank in your own eye?"
Matthew 7:4
