LOVE IS SACRIFICIAL
If you have an unsatisfactory relationship with your children or husband, it might just be unmet expectations that are at the root of it all. I tell you, its a common and destructive problem.
Let's see....
Could you easily list every action of theirs that was hurtful or disappointing to you? Maybe even the date or where you were standing??
Do you expect the worse from them before you even see them?
Is there a general dislike for that person(s) and your mood, attitude, tone prove it when you interact with them?
If so, take time right now to acknowledge your part in the failing of the relationship and confess to God these grievances that you've held onto that are sabotaging any success in the future.
It's time to forgive and move forward.
Jesus was the ultimate example of UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and ACCEPTANCE. If you have received Christ as your personal savior, his sacrificial, pure love brought you to repentance and saved you from your sin, not his criticism or judgments.
Start today to be Christ-like and let ALL expectations go! No more judging and labeling people. Genuinely love those around you with an undying, unconditional love. Asking their forgiveness may also be necessary.
"By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." John 13:35
Jesus said, "Let him who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her...... Has no one condemned you?" She said, "No one, Lord." And Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn you; go and from now on sin no more." John 8: 7-11
