Lent Day 12 The Narrow Gate

A Spiritual Journey towards faith in Jesus Christ for Children

Day 12 - The Narrow Gate
Family Scripture Reading: Matthew 7:13-20

Family Discussion Starters:

What do you think Jesus means by a "Narrow Gate?"
(What Jesus is saying is that each person faces many choices in life. The most important choice a person can make is what he or she is going to place their faith in because this will determine what happens to their soul.  The decision to follow Jesus and believe in the Bible is not a popular one. It is the narrow gate.)

How do you walk through the "Narrow Gate?"
(Many people place their faith in themselves or in things. Jesus tells us to place our faith in Him alone because He is the only way to eternal life. You must make the choice to walk through the Narrow Gate towards Jesus.)

How does Jesus say to recognize true Prophets/Christians?
("By their fruit you will recognize them." Matt 7:16 The fruit Jesus is talking about is the life and actions you can observe. Look at your life. Do you have good fruit that is obvious to the people who see you?)

"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law." Galatians 5:22-23
