Approaching
The Cross
Palm Sunday is this Sunday and
the last week of the Lenten Season. Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus'
entrance into Jerusalem.
As Jesus entered into the
city, people spread palm branches at his feet and called him
"Hosanna" and "savior." Palm branches were considered as
symbols of victory and triumph and are
still used today in this special remembrance.
Now begins Holy Week that
ends to Easter in remembrance of Jesus' time in Jerusalem before he died and,
was resurrected.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead..” 1 Peter 1:3
