Week
Three – Make Good Choices - Eve
By Carri Pratt
Eve
had the incredible honor of being the first woman created by God. Of course there are pros and cons to
this.
As the very first woman she had no
female role models. She had no
Titus2Women in her circle to share truth and provide accountability.
If you
were a first born female child in your family like I was, you probably
experienced the “princess zone” and felt like the universe revolved around you.
(I know I did) Surely Eve felt the power of being a female.
The
downfall comes when you elevate yourself above God. When Eve learned from Satan that she could be
even more powerful; her flesh longed for what she did not have and she was
tempted to disobey her loving Father God.
If
only Eve had known that tricky little snake was leading her down the wrong
path. The consequences of her choice was
that she was separated from her “good thing”, her relationship with the Lord.
Choices
can do the same to us. No matter how
tempting, yummy and delicious a choice might look on the outside, much like
Eve’s apple, it just might be full of worms.
God
has given us comfortable guidelines to follow to ensure success in making good
choices:
·
The
10 Commandments Exodus 20
·
The
Most Important Command: “Love the Lord Your God with all your
heart.” Deuteronomy 6:5
·
Investment
Advice: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and
vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But
store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not
destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew 6:19-20
