A “Myan” Happy New Year
by Carri Pratt
If you are reading this, the world has not ended and we are
continuing on in our daily lives unaffected by the Myan calendar. December 21st has come and gone
and a new year has begun.
However, isn’t it possible that God could use this as a
wake-up call for us to become more
established in our walk with Him? In
Romans 11:8 we discover that, “As the Scriptures say, “God has put them
into a deep sleep. To this day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not
hear.” Is that us? Are we going through life with our eyes shut, concentrating so hard on the busy work right in front
of us that we are totally asleep to the eternal aspect of our lives and the lives of those around us?
I personally thank God for a godly group of women that
surround me, lift me up and keep me motivated and on the track towards His
Kingdom. It is crucial to have Christian
girlfriends that hold you
accountable. I believe what Paul said to
Titus applies to us girls as well, “6 In
the same way, encourage the young (women) to live wisely. 7 And you yourself must be an example to
them by doing good works of every kind.”
Titus
2:6-7
It is truly time for us not only to evaluate and make
necessary changes in our own lives but to reach out and be an encouragement and
a role model of Jesus and His love for our
sisters-in-Christ and to those
who have not accepted Him yet.
God Bless You and Have a Happy New Year!
