Who Are Your Friends?

Who Are Your Friends?

Make no mistake…You become like the people you hang out with.

"Walk with the wise and become wise, for the companion of fools suffers harm." Proverbs 13:20

Train Them Up

Train Them Up

The end goal in raising children is to get them independent of you, the parent. Training should start as early as toddlerhood; we mold them with what we say (or don’t say) and what we allow them to do (or not do) for themselves.

There are many little ways throughout the day to teach your children. For example: Instructing your toddler to sit at the table during mealtime and to use their napkin to wipe their face instead of doing it for them.

To smile warmly and gently instruct your child shows them you trust them and will make them feel fully capable.

Responsible and hard working kids are not just born. Expecting them to clear the table, throw away trash, and even to use proper manners takes training. Start today!

“Train up a child in the way he should go…”
Proverbs 22:6

30 Day Challenge

30 Day Challenge

Doing this myself is a huge part of my testimony. There was one important thing that HAD to happen before this (which was to forgive and apologize to my sister-in-law, more on that later) and several things after, but this one thing has had the most positive impact on my life.

So, for 30 days I want you to commit to NOT REACTING. That means not mouthing off, not defending yourself, not firing back…to anyone.

Basically, you will be denying and crucifying your flesh. If you mess up, start back at 1.

Breaking bad habits take commitment and discipline. Stay with it. I promise the fruit will come quickly.

“There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”  Proverbs 12:18

“But God is my helper. The Lord is my defender.”  Psalm 54:4-5

Do Your Words Match Your Dreams and Goals?

Do Your Words Match Your Dreams and Goals?

Pray this scripture often:
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:14

"For as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he..." Proverbs 23:7

"The Tongue can bring death or life: those who love to talk will reap the consequences." Proverbs 18:21

New Beginnings

New Beginnings

I love a fresh start, I always have. The New Year brings such promise and so much energy with no looking back. All old things forgotten, all new and good things are possible.

On this day most folks have made New Years resolutions and truly believe they can achieve them. Their list is goal oriented and has everything on it from losing weight and getting healthy to saving money and planning better for the future. All of which are all good goals and possibly even get achieved.

However; the only lasting fresh start is accepting Christ as your personal savior. Allowing His forgiveness to forever wipe your slate clean and that means everything past, present, and future.

“Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”  John 3:3
