God Box - Monthly Feature

God Box – Jenn V.
What if you could catch a glimpse of every hope and prayer (big or small) your mother ever had for you?  What a cherished prize that would be!  You can do this for your children, family and friends with a God Box.
I first heard of this idea at one of our church’s women’s retreats.  The lady who owned the retreat center had a mom who put all her prayers in a box and when her mom died, her dad found them and passed the small pieces of prayers to everyone who was included in the God Box.  When someone shares a concern with you or you are fretting and worrying over a problem, all you have to do is write it down on a strip of paper along with their name and slip it in the God Box.  As soon as the retreat was over I was just waiting with bated breath for my Hobby Lobby 40% Off Coupon to come in my email inbox!  As soon as it came, I ran up the store found this cute hinged box that looks like a Bible.  Your God Box can be anything you want it to!  It can be a bag, basket, a recipe box, or even a suitcase if you are a worry wart!  This simple act of writing down your prayers and physically giving it over to God is a great way to help others and help relieve your own mind of anxiety, stress and worry.  We need to let go and give ALL our problems over to God!  “Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall” (Psalm 55:22) “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” 1 Peter 5:7  NIV
