Genesis Bible Study – Chapter 45
Carri Pratt

“So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God” Genesis 45:8

It is sometimes truly difficult to trust in the Lord when things are going terribly wrong. Sometimes, when big trouble hits, my first reaction might be a sinful one. Questions like, “Why me?” are nothing more than a lack of faith that God is in control.

In Genesis chapter 45 we see that Joseph has no lack of faith. He knows full well why he traveled the road he did from slavery to royalty. His life was not in the hands of his brothers, it was in God’s hands. Joseph trusted in God every step of his journey for provision, encouragement and to help him become the man God created him to be.

Ladies, this is huge! Our eyes need to be fixed on Jesus, especially during difficult times. God is truly in control of all circumstances and He will be the one to walk with us from slavery to royalty! Praise You Jesus!

“He’ll make us beautiful and whole with the same powerful skill by which He is putting everything as it should be, under and around Him.” Philippians 3:21 (The Message)

Challenge: When big trouble hits, recognize that God is in control. “Keep your eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, who that for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame and has sat down at the right hand of God’s throne.” Hebrews 12:2
