Genesis Bible
Study – Chapter 41
By

“It
is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.” Genesis 41:52
One minute Joseph believes he has been forgotten to live
out his days in a jail cell, the next he is standing before the most powerful
man in Egypt and is given a position of authority over the kingdom!
Our God Is Amazing!
So, why such a troubled road for Joseph? For God’s
Glory – the reason we live on the earth. God was allowing Joseph to
become spiritually mature enough to handle the responsibility and plan He had
ordained for his life.
When we look back at the youthful, somewhat innocent
arrogance Joseph displayed wearing his royal coat of many colors in the fields
with the sheep; we see pride that needed to be removed and the spiritual
immaturity that needed to be matured.
The fact is that every individual that says “Yes Lord!”
and makes Jesus the King of their lives must submit to His authority and
receive the gifts of salvation, justification, sanctification and
glorification. Acknowledge this list and know that three of these feel amazing
and one is amazingly challenging, demanding and difficult. The Gospel changes
everything, and it will change you from who you were to who God wants you to
be.
Sanctification is the process God uses to make us into
the image of His Son, Jesus Christ. Many times trial by fire is the only way to
burn off the worldly characters so deeply ingrained in our souls. We are
sanctified so that we may be glorified in Christ. God does this, because He
Loves Us.
God’s plan for Joseph was to save an entire nation.
Joseph was faithful and God’s plans were fulfilled.
Hear this, God has a plan for you. Will you be faithful
so that God’s plans may be fulfilled in you?
Challenge:
Take a look at your life. Remember the moment you received salvation. Now look
at the trials you have experienced since that moment. What good came from them?
Do you see God at work in your life? He has a plan for you! Thank Him and give Him praise for His
amazing love.
