The World Has a Counterfeit for Every Truth
by Kim Hawkins
“The world and
its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:17
The world teaches us
to be selfish and do what is right in our own eyes. Jesus led us in the
ultimate example by being a servant instead of being served, not following
selfish desires but only doing what the Father had instructed him.
This world is the
opposite of God’s kingdom. By
regularly examining our motives and
studying/memorizing God’s word we can make certain that we are following after
God’s truth and not the trappings of this world.
…
“for the LORD will be at your side and
will keep your foot from being snared.”
Proverbs 3:26
Inner-beauty or Outward Appearance
Humility or Pride
Peace or Stress
Trust or Unbelief
Faith or Fear
Joy or Misery
Happy or Holy
His gifts are REAL
and we don’t have to settle for the cheap knock-offs! As we delve into God’s
word, it will divinely reveal our wrong thinking.
“People look at the outward appearance, but
the Lord
looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
Challenge: Ask the Lord if you have any counterfeit’s you need to exchange
today. “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be
transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Romans 12:2a
