The Powerful Influence of a Woman

The Powerful Influence of a Woman

by Kim Hawkins

Have you heard the very country but so very true saying, “If Mama ain’t happy, aint nobody happy.”

God has given the woman a very special, purposeful and determined place in society and especially in the home. If we carefully use and not abuse that power our lives, marriage, home and children will all reap beautiful and lasting fruit.

What does that look like, you ask? Well, for me I had to stop dead in my tracks and look carefully at where I was headed…I was headed for an empty marriage with a very physical but no emotional relationship with my husband. With children who were hurt, feeling unloved, and unstable because of all the unbalance in our home and marriage.

What’s Unbalance?

1)    Manipulation… It’s WRONG! It’s the world’s way. It leads to death. You think you’re getting away with something, especially if it’s in a quiet, submissive, gentle tone…

2)    Anger, Yelling, Shaming- It will absolutely NEVER work. It’s also the world’s way. What it WILL do, however, is drive a HUGE wedge between you and those you love. Be a forgiving & safe place to fall and rebuild trust TODAY.

3)    Being Critical- A sharp tongue and critical spirit is So of this world and NOT God’s way and will bring destruction and WILL NOT motivate ANYONE, ever! Let God tell you who you and your husband/children are!

4)    Pointing Fingers, Keeping Records of Wrongs and Blaming- The enemy wants to keep you focused on others and their wrongs toward you. When you look inward you see your own faults and it’s then easy to offer forgiveness and move on.

Father, Please open the eyes and ears of your daughters to see where we are inviting destruction into our homes, thoughts and lives. Lord, please help us to not just see and accept those around us but to build them up with our words and affirmation. Lord, let us NOT play part of any plan of the enemy who wants death and destruction for our precious family. May we seek you first and be so filled with your spirit that we love others as you do, unconditionally with respect, undying devotion, unrelenting grace, forgiveness and endless acceptance. In Jesus powerful name, AMEN!

“A wise woman builds her house. But a foolish woman tears hers down with her own hands.” Proverbs
