Engage With Them

Engage With Them

The article linked above is so very good and it is based on a study done of couples. It was determined which couples would and wouldn't survive based on two things.

I also believe this certain attribute would make the relationship with your children amazing also.

Please perk up and engage with your people. A heart connection is what matters between two people because it builds trust and intimacy.

When is the last time you had a conversation with your husband about things that concern him? Are you a safe place for him to be real and vulnerable?

When your child needs correction, it should be done in a manner of "Come sit with Mommy and let's have a chat." The lazy way is yelling "stop that" or giving them a swat on the pants. Those type things never actually teach children the important lesson or a different behavior. It also prevents the heart-to-heart connection that builds closeness and trust over time.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Love never fails.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
