Christmas
Miracles
By Stephanie H.
Luke 2:13-14 Suddenly
a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and
saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on
whom his favor rests.”
Some of my
favorite Christmas memories were every year at Christmas time, our church
presented a very large Christmas pageant.
Our whole church would get involved either with the set-up, costumes,
behind the stage, on the stage, tear down…etc.
Every year I can remember the scenes that highlighted Jesus’ miracles
and the joy on all the faces of the actors who were in the pageant acting as if
he really was Jesus and the miracles were real.
Growing up in this environment I would take it all in. Listening to everyone, learning lots of life
lessons, serving, watching people give mentally, physically and financially to
make these pageants happen. After the
show was over and everything was torn down we would typically head to a local Ihop
and the stories would start…stories of the miracles that the audience didn’t
see. It taught me to look at
circumstances in a new light…to be looking for God. Miracles are still happening all around us
every day. Do we look at them as miracles
or just luck, fate or karma? Do we
praise God and give him the credit or do we pat someone or even ourselves on
the back?
Challenge: Be
looking for God in every situation. Give
God the glory! Tell people about what
you see God doing. Be a part of a
Christmas miracle!
