Biblical Priority #5 - Service
by Amy G.
The bell rings on the first day of school…Brrring!!! You marked the date on the calendar, went back to school shopping and fell asleep early in preparation for this day. Attendance is mandatory. Why should our spiritual life be any different? It is for our benefit, not Gods, that we make growing in Christ likeness our top priority. We have to make it a point (make an appointment/ priority) to 1.) continually grow our relationship with God through prayer and meditating on God’s Word, 2.) attend worship services each week, 3.) routinely fellowship with other believers, and 4.) give to the church from every pay check. In Luke 22:46 NLV, Jesus disciples were not being steadfast and were caught with other priorities, and Jesus said to them, “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.” Their prayers would not keep Christ from the cross, but their prayers were for their own benefit. Likewise, developing these spiritual disciplines are for our benefit. “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.” Jeremiah 29:13 NLV
Challenge: Write church events & times on your calendar and keep your appointment!
