Grace Upon Grace

Grace Upon Grace

I read this book to my kids a chapter at a time at bedtime, it's full of wisdom and easy to read lessons in living a godly life. It is not just for boys either. My youngest and I decided this should be the Friday Focus on Good Friday when we read it the other night. Excerpt below taken from the book BOYHOOD AND BEYOND, by Bob Shultz.

"One main purpose of your life is to display the glory of God. Reflecting God's glory is more important than being understood. Responding to misunderstanding with anger, cutting off relationships, displays the nature of evil rather than the nature of of Him who created us. The desire to see God glorified allows us to overlook misunderstandings and false accusations. It motivates us to hold our tongues, to speak truth, and to do all the good we can. Misunderstandings are opportunities to show God's attitudes, such as patience, forgiveness, and humility.
Jesus Christ is the example of a mature man. He knows how to act when falsely accused."

"When the hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to Him who judges justly." 1 Peter 2:23

"Jesus went about doing good." Acts 10:38
